After last week's first Wedding Wednesday post, we're back with some more wedding musings. This time, we're sharing five of our favourite barn wedding venues in the Sussex area with you. If you've just got engaged and are looking for a rustic and beautiful barn to hold your wedding, keep reading!

In no particular order, here are five of our personal favourite Sussex barns for weddings and events...

1. Upwaltham Barns, Petworth

We have played at a few weddings over the years at Upwaltham Barns, which is in Petworth, near Chichester. The setting is beautiful, in the South Downs National Park - the drive down from London is always a pleasure! Wedding ceremonies can take place in the barns and drinks reception / hog roasts in the evening outside in the lovely courtyard. The venue looks lovely in the evening too - lit up with fairy lights and candles in the nooks in the walls.

2. Pangdean Barn, Pyecombe

A gorgeous barn, located very near Brighton, which has the added bonus of being run by Nicky, who also runs a catering company onsite called Hunger Pangs.  Another great benefit is they allow you to bring in your own alcohol, which can save you a lot of money! The barn is very pretty and can seat up to 180 people, making a flexible space.

3. Hendall Stone Barn, Uckfield

This 17th century barn is a great split level space, with underground parking available - great if the weather isn't behaving itself! It is licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies and has great integrated lighting and speakers.

4. Fitzleroi Barn, Pulborough

Another beautiful barn, and this one is very spacious - plenty of room for dancing later on in the evening! A private courtyard makes a beautiful location for a drinks reception and the high beamed ceiling has real wow factor.

5. Northease Manor, Lewes

With a lovely Rose Garden overlooking the South Downs and a unique Capri marquee set up in the grounds, Northease Manor offers the flexibility of using different spaces for the different parts of your day. Circa Events are the resident caterers and Reveries Wedding Decorators are also on hand to provide beautiful drapes and lighting for the interiors.

P.S: Most of these barns allow live bands like our acts Soul Sauce, Bombshell and Picked Up for the evening part of your wedding, and all of them allow more acoustic acts like Fly Note, Bex Bennett and Bex Reichwald for your ceremony or drinks reception. Get in touch if you'd like to discuss any of our acts for your big day!
