Last week Bombshell were thrilled to play for Ernst and Young's summer conference, organised by the fabulous Palette Events. The event took place at Central Hall Westminster and had a distinctly sporty vibe with a mini rugby pitch in front of the stage, giant board games and delicious fast food stalls dotted around the venue.
Bombshell was hired as an 8 piece band for this event, adding an extra vocalist, saxophone and trumpet to their standard line up. We started each set with a sporting theme tune - BBC Cricket, F1 Racing and Match of the Day - learnt especially for the event. Then the band kept it lighter in the first set, with some pop and soul songs for the guests to listen to while they ate, drank and played giant Connect 4. The next two sets were full on crowd pleasing floor fillers from the last two decades with Pharrell William's Happy and Bruno Mars' Treasure proving particularly popular, especially with the added brass section on this gig. Oh and all the musicians were delighted with their big foam fingers...
